Liberty Division FAQ's
- The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (Sea Cadets) is the Navy's youth development program giving young Americans skills, knowledge, and confidence through an amazing variety of training opportunities. Sea Cadets wear uniforms, work as teams in a disciplined environment, and adhere to our core values of honor, respect, commitment, and service
- We meet during the school year at the American Legion in Lake City on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, from 9am to 4pm. This schedule might change depending on special circumstances such as fundraisers or holidays.
- The cost for the first year is $180 which includes the national dues, military ID, and the supply of 4 uniforms. All subsequent years, the yearly cost is $90 dollars. If the cadet completes at least 80% of all their duties (course work, attendance of drill days, etc.) then the $90 and the fee for a summer training camp is waived if the current program budget allows.
- A huge part of the SeaCadets program is the vast amount of training camps available to the cadets. During the summer months, and even during the spring and winter breaks from school, the cadets will have the opportunity to go away to week-long sleep away style camps to learn even more skills and earn higher ranks within the program.
The best way for children to truly get a feel for all that SeaCadets has to offer is to bring them to one of our drill days at the Legion and let them participate. This will also give us the opportunity to answer any more questions you may have. We hope to see you soon!
